WWE Monitoring Leon Slater's Future After TNA World Title Win

Leon Slater just won the biggest match of his career, but it sounds like people inside WWE are already wondering how long he’ll actually stay on top of TNA.

According to PWInsider, there’s already interest within WWE in seeing what Slater does once his current TNA deal expires. The belief is that his contract is up at the end of 2026, putting a lot of attention on what his next move will be.

The report says there are two possibilities being discussed. One is that Slater follows the path of Cruz Montana by signing a short extension with TNA, giving himself a proper run as World Champion before eventually heading to WWE NXT. The other is that he drops the title relatively quickly and makes the jump as soon as his contract is over.

PWInsider added that plenty of people within WWE have expected Slater to end up in NXT for quite some time. The only thing that’s apparently up in the air is the timing—whether he arrives right at the start of 2027 or spends a little longer building his résumé as TNA World Champion first.

Right now, though, Slater is exactly where he wants to be. He just captured the TNA World Championship in the biggest win of his career, and WWE is content to watch how things play out before his contract comes up.

Do you think Leon Slater should stay in TNA for a longer title reign, or would you like to see him in WWE NXT as soon as his deal expires? Let us know in the comments below.

Grade card

This is the best card in the book, and it is not an A. They had Reigns written off Clash in Paris for Street Fighter, Cody against McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza, the show living on the ESPN app, and Valhalla moved to alumni. The misses were clocks and a dead booking: Rey was not back the next week, and Escobar was not on that Anaheim Raw. The C− is the hedge pile, not the 15 misses. If the item is a contract or a TV plan, they led the book. If the sentence is a date, check the date.
