R-Truth is assuring fans that he’s all right following the injury he suffered on WWE SmackDown last week.
The October 16 SmackDown episode included a scary moment where Truth’s grudge match against Damian Priest had to be called off due to Truth legitimately getting injured. He hit a missile dropkick from the top rope and then could not continue with the match, though Truth was conscious and able to move around. Our Bryan Alvarez reported that Truth was doing okay and was set to be evaluated this week.
On Monday, Truth shared a photo of himself from that evaluation and thanked fans for their support. Truth, while assuring everyone that he’ll be back, did further his storyline issues with Priest by claiming that Priest tried to kill him in their match.
“I AM OK, Thank you ALL for your support, concerns and get well wishes , Wow, It truly feels amazing to feel and be loved I’m grateful for you all,” Truth wrote. “On 10/16/2026 I almost passed away… Damien Priest tried to kill me,, I didn’t think he was ThAt serious… But ok, l’ll be back”
R-Truth & Damian Priest rivalry —
Truth & Priest are former tag team partners and even had one reign as WWE Tag Team Champions earlier this year. Their partnership ended with Priest turning heel in September. After Truth’s injury on Friday, Priest went and got a steel chair before Nathan Frazer & Axiom ran down to prevent the attack.
