Chris Jericho says an adaptation of his first autobiography, A Lion’s Tale, is progressing toward filming a television pilot.
Jericho was asked in a recent interview with Skratch N’ Sniff about the possibility of his life story being adapted into a movie, similar to the Mildred Burke biopic Queen of the Ring. Jericho revealed that a television series based on his first book is in development and said an unnamed actor from Letterkenny could be in line to play him.
Jericho said:
“We are actually working on something based on my first book, A Lion’s Tale, that we’ve been working on for a while, of doing a TV series based on that.
“And so we’ve kind of moved it up the food chain, and it’s getting pretty close to filming a pilot, and we do have an actor that is very similar to me when I was first starting out that was from the Letterkenny series, if you ever watch that show.
“So yeah, I mean there might be something very, very soon of not just an autobiography because that’s not enough because I’m, you know, Chris Jericho, right? I always have to push the envelope that we might have a whole actual TV series about kind of the early years of my career which would be a lot of fun.
“So that’s something we’re working on and we’re getting, you know, we’re moving to the pilot stage fairly, fairly soon.”
Jericho added, “I won’t say who it is in Letterkenny, but there is a real facial similarity.”
Jericho’s book A Lion’s Tale: Around the World in Spandex was released on October 25, 2007. The book details his early life as well as the beginning of his professional wrestling career. In 2011, he released a sequel, Undisputed: How to Become the World Champion in 1,372 Easy Steps, and in 2014, he released The Best in the World: At What I Have No Idea.
