WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green has opened up about her goals for her character after arguably the biggest year in her career to date. 

On a recent edition of the “Casual with Katie Nolan” podcast, Green discussed her character inspirations and how she portrays herself on TV. She said, 

“At this point in time, I really feel like it’s best to pull from old movies and things we can redo in our own way. I wanted this character to be the opposite of what a hot girl should be… There’s so many layers to this.”

Green added that she enjoys having a funny character who is able to be self-deprecating while the character insists that it is a ‘hot girl.’

The Canadian returned to WWE in 2023 as an over-the-top ‘Karen’, a character that Green has fond memories of portraying. She said, 

“I added some comedy to it as time went on, and she got funnier, and funnier, and then I think people realized through media, through our Netflix show Unreal, through interviews that, ‘Oh, maybe I like her?’”

Green is in her first reign as WWE Women’s Champion, having won the title in a ladder match at WWE SummerSlam 2026 in August.
