While a Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi baton passing moment for the World Heavyweight title seems like a lock for this April’s WWE WrestleMania 43, a main event from a show this year could be run back at their biggest shows of the year.
WrestleVotes on Fightful Select is reporting that according to one source, a rematch between CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes could be on the books and be positioned as another main event.
Punk defeated Rhodes at this past August’s WWE SummerSlam in a successful defense of his then-WWE title — their first singles match in 18 years.
The report also noted that WWE hopes that Rhea Ripley will be healthy for the show as she would be a “heavy focus” on the women’s side of things. Ripley has been out of action with a torn meniscus she suffered in June, abruptly ending her second WWE Women’s title reign.
WrestleMania will head to Saudi Arabia in April for the first time ever, but the dates have yet to be announced.
