TNA Wrestling has revealed the role Mickie James will be playing at Bound for Glory 2026 this weekend.

During Bound for Glory weekend in 2025, James was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. It was already announced that she would be back for this year’s event, and TNA has now revealed that James will be the special guest referee for Sunday’s Knockouts World Championship match, which has Xia Brookside defending against Indi Hartwell.

Carlos Silva, the president of TNA, made the special guest referee announcement himself, citing storyline issues with on-screen authority figures Santino Marella and Daria Rae (the former Sonya Deville). At the moment, Rae is “suspended” from her management role after slapping Hartwell.

“I’ve decided to jump in and make this special announcement that we’re bringing in Mickie James to be the guest referee for this match in Tampa at Bound for Glory on Sunday,” Silva said. “We’re all excited to see our Hall of Famer Mickie James come back and help us out and make sure there is no wrongdoing during the TNA Knockouts World Championship match.”

James is coming off a brief TNA in-ring comeback earlier this year that saw her wrestle at Rebellion 2026 in April. She teamed with ODB & Taryn Terrell in a loss to The Elegance Brand.
