Gold will be on the line to kick off Saturday’s WWE Money in the Bank 2026 PLE.
While running down the card on SmackDown tonight, WWE revealed that Roman Reigns vs. LA Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship will open Money in the Bank. The PLE is taking place from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans and has a 6 p.m. Eastern start time, airing live on the ESPN app in the United States and on Netflix elsewhere.
Reigns vs. Knight opening the card rather than closing it would seem to indicate that a same-night cash-in by the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match winner is less likely than it otherwise would be. With this positioning, WWE can’t have the MITB winner rest up after their match and then cash in later in the night when the champion is vulnerable.
The men’s MITB ladder match participants are Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, Penta, Kevin Owens, and CM Punk.
Sami Zayn, the Undisputed WWE Champion, does not have a title defense at Money in the Bank.
WWE has not announced what Saturday’s main event will be, though the men’s ladder match would appear to be the most likely option now that it won’t be Reigns vs. Knight.
